Irish International Hockey Player
Ayeisha Started playing hockey at the age of 8 when in primary school and move into Goalkeeper when into secondary school because she played football and there was no one else to do it. Having play various sports competitively when younger, she had to choose between hockey, athletics and football all of which she competed at a national level.
Having then chosen hockey, Ayeisha was selected to represent Ulster and Ireland for U16, U18 and U21 before making her senior debut in January 2014. Playing in various underage European tournaments, UK school games and match series’ throughout Europe. Now being in the senior squad for over 4 years with 65 caps and counting, she has had much success as well as failures of just missing out on the Rio Olympics to then qualifying for the World Cup in 2018. This is the first time a women’s team have qualified since 2002.
As well as playing for Ireland, she also currently plays in the United States for the University of Louisville on a Field Hockey Scholarship, where she’s a three year starter and a 3x All American, 3x West Region First team and 2x All ACC first team.
